Jaryd ‘Summit1g’ Lazar is one of the top streamers in the world. He has a huge fan following on Twitch and is widely known for streaming some of the most popular FPS titles out there. Lazar was previously known for playing and streaming CS:GO a lot. In fact, this is the very game that gave him a push start in his career. However, he now focuses on other games and doesn’t play CS:GO anymore a lot. But this still hasn’t stopped him to talk about something that Valve should address instantly.
For those who don’t know, the Krieg, or the SG 553, has remained one of the most controversial weapons in the game. Since its addition, we have seen many players complaining about how overpowered it is. Not only regular players, but even professionals have criticized the developers for adding this weapon in the game. However, nothing has done about this issue. And now, Lazar has finally spoken against it during one of his teams and has expressed his disappointment towards Valve.
Former CS:GO Player Lazar Talks About Krieg
Recently, Lazar was casually playing a match with Joakim ‘Jkaem” Myrbostad from 100 Thieves during which he decided to talk about the Krieg. He claimed that although he doesn’t play competitive CS:GO, no one call play competitive properly because of Krieg’s meta. The former CS:GO pro went on to add that everyone knows it is overpowered but is still used by most players. The reason why he called the weapon’s meat stupid is that it can take down an opponent with “one-tap.”
After a few minutes, someone claimed that the Krieg will get nerfed. However, Lazar wasn’t happy to hear this as he asked how many more tournaments will happen before this weapon gets nerfed. He even provided a list of reasons why he doesn’t care about the game anymore. One of them was how long the developers take to fix a thing in their game. He added that he is tired of sitting and dealing with the same thing over and over again.
What Others Say
The streamer isn’t the only prominent figure in the CS:GO scene who has expressed his disappointment towards the weapon. On April 5, Nick ‘nitr0’ Cannella also made a Tweet against it. He tweeted that the fact that we can get 2 kriegs in the 2nd round after the bomb plan is something mind-blowing. He is right considering how much overpowered the weapon is.

At the moment, Valve is yet to provide a statement about whether they are aware of this issue or not. However, chances are that they are already working on nerfing it. This is because Krieg has remained a big topic of discussion in the CS:GO community over the past months. And it would be a shame if Valve hasn’t noticed it. If Valve refuses to nerf the weapon, then they are going to disappoint a lot of players. And not only regular players, but professionals are also not going to be happy with their decision. All we can do is wait and see what the developers have in mind for the weapon.
