CS:GO New Update Brings New Maps And More

CS:GO fans will be glad to know that Valve has recently released a brand new update for their game. The sad thing is that this latest update marks the end of Operation Shattered Web. This means that you won’t be able to enjoy it anymore. However, in order to keep players busy with the game, Valve has done something else. Through the update, the developers have added a lot of exciting new content, including new maps.

CS:GO New Update

The latest update for CS:GO has brought two new maps to the game. In addition to this, it has also introduced a brand new case that is filled with some exciting skins. Aside from this, the update has also brought fixes for various issues. So without any further due, here’s a short summary of the latest patch.

New Maps

To begin with, the thing which has left everyone excited is the new maps. For those who don’t know, Valve recently hosted the Mapcore Exotic Places map contest. This was done so that the community itself can choose the map they want. Now that the contest has ended, we now have our finalists. The two maps Anubis and Chlorine have been selected as the top maps, and they have now been added to CS:GO. Both maps will be added to scrimmage and causal official servers. However, competitive players won’t be able to enjoy them at the moment.

Anubis is a four-square style map. It was the top winner of the contest, meaning that it was loved by everyone. The best thing about this map is that it has been carefully optimized and there are several angles in it. As for Chlorine, it is set in an abandoned theme park. Compared to Anubis, Chlorine is more open and focuses on mid-range combat.

Prisma 2 Case

Valve has also added the Prisma 2 case to CS:GO. Just its the previous one, this one also features some amazing new skins. In fact, it has a total of 17 new weapon skins up for the grab. In addition to this, there’s also a chance that you’ll get chroma finishes for the Horizon Knives. For those wondering, there are two Covert skins, three Classified skins, five Restricted skins, and seven Mil-Spec skins in the case.

Changes and Improvements

Other than adding new content to the game, the latest update has also made various changes and improvements to the game. To begin with, Breach and Studio are no longer going to be available on the official matchmaking servers. Another thing the update has added is that players who are eligible for cross-promotional content from The Master Chief Collection and Half-Life: Alyx will receive the CS:GO items.

Aside from this, players can also expect to see a few other fixes. In any case, Valve has done an amazing job with this update. Many players were going to miss Operation Shattered Web, but the developers have now given something so stay busy with. We can also expect to see some new updates in the coming weeks.
