Chinese Dota 2 Professional Association bans Newbee for match-fixing

Newbee, the esports organization most popular for winning The International 4 have been restricted from participating in any Dota 2 activity in China. This decision was made by the Chinese Dota 2 Professional Association for match-fixing.

The restriction sees them unfit to contend in all Chinese Dota 2 Professional Association partnered leagues, including the CDA-DPL Professional League, all IMBATV events, and all MarsTV events.

The Newbee players have additionally received bans from these competitions as well. The Chinese Dota 2 Professional Association affirming this is a lifetime ban for all included. In addition to that, Chinese Dota 2 Professional Association made a decision to impose a lifetime ban on them as well as the Newbee organization.

Ban confined to China only

While this isn’t yet a global ban for the team, the Chinese Dota 2 Professional Association has shared the data with Valve. It surely wouldn’t be an astonishment to see them hand out a boycott themselves dependent on past cases.

The following five players of Newbee will probably now battle to continue a vocation in the professional Dota scene.

  • Xu “Moogy” Han
  • Yin “Aq” Rui
  • Wen “Wizard” Lipeng
  • Yan “Waixi” Chao
  • Zeng “Confidence” Hongda

Faith is the most popular player on the team. He has won TI2 with Invictus Gaming in 2012 and coming next to TI7 with Newbee in 2017. He has won $1,758,817 in prize cash. Now it appears to be insane to know about his involvement in match-fixing.

While the particular matches that were fixed have not yet been uncovered, it is accepted that they took place in the China Dota 2 Professional League Season 2 and the DPL-CDA Professional League Season 1.

The organization excluded Newbee from the DPL-CDA Professional League Season 1. The side had just won one match in the event up until this point. So they were probably not going to win. But now they will end up in the last spot.

One of the greatest organizations

For a considerable length of time Newbee has been, perhaps, the greatest association in the realm of Dota. In 2014, the formation of the Chinese Super Team took place just before the start of TI4. They took the amazing finals in persuading style is probably the shortest final ever at The International.

While they never figured out how to reach similar statures again they made it to the final of The International 7 and were extraordinarily near becoming the first two-time TI champions. In any case, Team Liquid figured out how to bring them down and that left OG to turn into the first two-time TI champions at The International 9 last year.

With this ban, the Chinese Dota 2 Professional Association made it clear to the world that there is no space for any error that may dent the repute of the Chinese Dota 2 Professional scene, let alone Dota 2 itself. If presentable allegations and proofs to Valve are true, then this organization and these players won’t ever see the face of the Dota 2 circuit for the betterment of the game.
