G2 Esports is currently ranked 2nd globally and has had a good run so far at this tournament. The team won Group A with 2 wins and 1 loss and then defeated Natus Vincere with a score of 2 – 0, which is no small task given that one of the best players in the world (s1mple) is in its roster. In recent months, G2 managed to finish 2nd at IEM Masters World Championship and ESL One: Road to Rio – Europe. They only had one failure, at ESL Pro League Season 11: Europe (10th – 12th). But now they’re back in shape. BIG also had an impressive run at this tournament, beating everyone in Group B and then smashing FaZe Clan. However, every single team they encountered had severe roster issues. And that’s why I regard G2 Esports as the clear favorite here.
