Before this tournament began, Evil Geniuses played poorly at several events, looking more and more like a team that had lost its motivation to train and its desire to win. But since the start of this competition, they played a lot more like the old EG and got good results against 100 Thieves (16 – 12), and Cloud9 (16 – 14). Then they drew against Triumph, falling below expectations once again. However, given the Bo1 format of the matches and the fact that Triumph proved to be a very strong team in spite of being ranked quite low compared to the other competitors (around 50th), we can conclude that EG (ranked 9th) is playing well at the moment. MIBR (ranked 18th) isn’t doing bad either, but I find it hard to believe that FalleN is ready to defeat such a strong opponent so soon after making a roster change.
