Evil Geniuses was no doubt motivated before this tournament, simply because they had some rough events before that. It is unacceptable for a team of their status to fail so miserably at consecutive tournaments, so I’m pretty sure the players got scolded a bit. The effect of that was, I imagine, a stronger sense of responsibility and a desire to train hard in order to return to the top. In the first match of the competition, EG won against 100 Thieves, a team that previously defeated them 3 times in a row. Now, another chance for revenge is provided, this time against Cloud9. This opponent has already demonstrated some serious weaknesses in its first match of the tournament, which they lost against Triumph. This loss, combined with EG’s excellent form will almost certainly result in EG’s victory in this match.
